Description

Genetic epidemiology is concerned with identifying the genetic component of human diseases and developing statistical methods to study them. This field is at the interface of three disciplines: bioinformatics, for the acquisition of genomic data and the development of tools for their processing; biostatistics, for the development of statistical methods adapted to the specificities of these data (high dimensionality, multimodality, population structure, family data, etc.); and epidemiology, for the consideration of variability at the population level and the integration of the environment (gene-environment interactions).

This new STATGEN thematic network aims to structure and raise the profile of the field of genetic epidemiology and statistical genetics in France, which is still relatively unknown. However, its development is essential to meet the challenges of genomic medicine applied to complex diseases by providing a more population-based vision.

This annual meeting is an opportunity to network and discover the work of other researchers in the field. Present your published or unpublished work that is not yet well known to the STATGEN community. The aim is to share knowledge and discover each other's research.

Confirmed invited speakers : Iuliana Ionita-Laza (Inserm CESP, Columbia University), Antonio Rausell (Imagine Institute)

Young researchers are encouraged to register, and doctoral/postdoctoral students may apply for funding to cover travel expenses.
